I don't mind much about which way for importing new upstream version is
the "correct" one. All the different possible approaches have ups and downs.
What I think is important is to give some information to other team
members how to import new stuff if it's not the de-facto default way as
Colin was describing. I did open this report as I simply wanted to
update that package (or at least look if a newer version is fixing the
test suite again).
