Jörg, I want to help improve simple-scan's packaging for Debian. I am beginning the Package Salvaging procedure described in the Developers Reference[1]. simple-scan seems to meet the criteria for this process, and I'd like to support keeping it maintained in Debian. As the Salvage process suggests, here is a list of the criteria that I believe apply: - Upstream has released several versions, but despite there being a bug entry asking for it, it has not been packaged. https://bugs.debian.org/1117051 - There is no visible activity regarding the package for six months I propose that simple-scan be transferred to the Debian GNOME team.
