It is needed as a build-dependency to package mangowc, a dwm-inspired Wayland compositor which is not yet available in Debian. There is no existing package providing similar functionality in the archive. Packaging is available at: https://salsa.debian.org/damian/scenefx I plan to maintain this package solo for now, and will be looking for a sponsor to upload it, as I am not yet a Debian Developer or Maintainer.
