Dear Maintainer, date --date "1 day 1 hour ago" returns a date in the future. It works to do "1 day ago 1 hour ago". suggest outputting an error if the string can't be parsed - or at least documenting the syntax: the man-page suggests you can use natural language but this seems incorrect. -- System Information: Debian Release: 13.6 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable-security'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 6.12.100+deb13-amd64 (SMP w/1 CPU thread; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages coreutils depends on: ii libacl1 2.3.2-2+b1 ii libattr1 1:2.5.2-3 ii libc6 2.41-12+deb13u3 ii libcap2 1:2.75-10+deb13u1+b1 ii libgmp10 2:6.3.0+dfsg-3 ii libselinux1 3.8.1-1 ii libssl3t64 3.5.6-1~deb13u2 ii libsystemd0 257.13-1~deb13u1 coreutils recommends no packages. coreutils suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
