It provides boolean operations on polygons, polygon offsetting, path generation and cell references, with the geometry engine written in C++ and exposed as a Python module. Gdstk is by the author of Gdspy which is already in Debian, and is its designated successor (upstream no longer develops gdspy). It is also a direct dependency of the Tiny Tapeout open silicon shuttle tooling. All build dependencies are already available in Debian. I will need a sponsor.
