Please feel free to push the nmu with no delays, and push the changes to
the salsa repository, whenever it's more convenient for the transition.
About the patch, upstream head uses gix 0.85, and the migration to 0.86
seems non-trivial, so if possible, could you forward your patch
upstream?

As a side note, I think that these kind of transitions could be avoided
having api versioned -dev packages (which the rust team tooling already
supports).
