The golang-coreos-log package ships upstream code from 2014 and appears unmaintained. It has no reverse dependencies in Debian. https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/golang-coreos-log The upstream project was archived in 2018: https://github.com/coreos/go-log Deprecation notice This project is currently unmaintained and deprecated. For those looking for alternative logging frameworks for Go, logrus or glog are two modern popular choices. This removal request is part of a larger batch to remove 100+ unused golang-*-dev packages from Debian. I believe the QA cost associated with keeping all of them is larger than the cost of (hopefully extremely rare) re-introduction of any accidentally removed package if there is ever any future need for it.
