The golang-gopkg-redis.v5 package ships upstream code from 2021 and appears unmaintained. It has no reverse dependencies in Debian. https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/golang-gopkg-redis.v5 The v6 branch is already packaged in Debian: https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/golang-github-go-redis-redis The upstream project is active and currently at the v9 branch: https://github.com/redis/go-redis This removal request is part of a larger batch to remove 100+ unused golang-*-dev packages from Debian. I believe the QA cost associated with keeping all of them is larger than the cost of (hopefully extremely rare) re-introduction of any accidentally removed package if there is ever any future need for it.
