I'm using Ubuntu dapper drake release and I'm seeing the same issue with XFCE 4.3.90.
The only thing special I did is enabled gdesklets and the plugin for gnome applets and I'm running deskbar applet inside xfce. The rest is standard configuration. It has grown to almost 600MB each process in about one night.
