As it happens, it appears that I opened #1137671 (RFA) less than 8 hours before you filed #1137757. It has been quite a while since I've had the time and motivation to attend to this package. That said, I probably need to simply update the RFA to O. Several other packages that I RFA'd were picked up by other maintainers fairly quickly, but that was not the case with quickfix. There is another similar bug (#1136714) to drop the dependency on libpqxx-dev. I will try to handle both of these bugs shortly and then I will properly orphan the package.
