- Install .service files via .install and let
dh_installinit/dh_systemd generate the maintscript code
- Switch to dh_installsystemd and debhelper compat 13
- Drop unnecessary mariadb-server.prerm
- Rely on dh_installsystemd to stop the service in postrm
* While the above changes are extensive, they are needed to properly handle
the systemd service file bugfixes done by upstream in 10.11.17/18. The
changes have been in newer Debian versions already for well over two years
and have been reviewed by multiple people to be safe for a maintenance
release in Debian Bookworm. The change also brings two new systemd files
(mariadb-extra.socket and [email protected]) but they are not active by
default.

is finalized and approved.
