Dear Maintainer,
Due to unrelated PEBKAC I deleted some cards, and control-Z wasn't
working to recreate them[that's not the bug that was just me being
tired].
So I went digging in my backup directory ~/.local/share/mnemosyne/
which shows backups as it should:

but wait -- this doesn't look right.
mnemosyne4-20250111-230227.db looks like the right size (I currently
have ~33,149 active cards and my default.db is 50MB) - but hasn't been
touched since last year(!). mnemosyne was left on over night [it's
pretty much always on]
those other files? They have the right datestamp for a nightly(!!)
backup but are empty.
~33,149 active cards that should be a backup ...somewhere in
here...and clearly isn't
Changed the 'autosave after N repetitions' to 9 from 10
Changed the 'Keep at most N backups' from 10 to 12
reviewed 20 cards...no change.
so what should happen: backups should be made
what is happening: backups are not being made.
