According to the funm documentation: Note that a much improved funm.m function has been implemented in Octave 11.1.0, so funm.m will be removed from the linear-algebra package if that is installed in Octave 11+. At package build time, the tests in funm.m are bypassed by setting the DH_OCTAVE_EXCLUDE_TEST environment variable in debian/rules. This variable is used by the dh_octave_check command, which in turn is used by autodep8/autopktest. However, autopkgtest ignores this environment variable. Therefore, dh-octave must implement an alternative mechanism for excluding unit tests. I am hereby reassigning this bug report to dh-octave. Thanks, Rafael Laboissière
