Sure, but translators will thank you if they have correct templates to translate. That's much more easy for them :-) If you want to keep up-to-date translations, do not hesitate to use the podebconf-report-po tool to ask translators for updated translations before publishing a new version of your templates. To do this, fix your templates, include all the translations you have in the BTS, run debconf-updatepo, use the podebconf-report-po tool, and wait something like 10 days (as the review process may take some time) for updated translations, and then publish your new package with the new translations.
