Dear maintainer team,
I have reproduced the CDDB search problem described in this bug on Debian Bookworm with EasyTAG 2.4.3-5.
I investigated the code in src/cddb_dialog.c and found that EasyTAG uses a special request for GnuDB:
/gnudb/<category>/<id>
This endpoint now redirects to the GnuDB website instead of returning the CDDB data expected by EasyTAG.
The existing standard CDDB CGI request in EasyTAG still works. I therefore removed the special GnuDB request handling and let GnuDB use the same standard CDDB CGI request as the other servers.
I built EasyTAG with this change on an ARM64 Raspberry Pi and tested it with GnuDB. The CDDB lookup then worked correctly and the track titles were displayed again.
I have attached the patch:
easytag-gnudb-cddb-fix.patch
The patch is intentionally small and only changes the request handling in Cddb_Get_Album_Tracks_List().
I hope this is useful for fixing this bug in the Debian package.
Regards
Helmut
