retitle 1141903 ITA: dh-virtualenv -- wrap and build Python packages using virtualenv
owner 1141903 ! thanks Hi, I intend to adopt dh-virtualenv and maintain it within the Debian Python Team, with myself as Uploader. I have prepared an update that, besides the adoption, fixes several issues with current tools: - the test suite is ported from nose (no longer in Debian) to pytest and runs at build time again; - `dh --with python-virtualenv` failed with debhelper compat >= 12, because dh_auto_configure was not removed from the sequence; - the dh_virtualenv buildsystem failed with virtualenv >= 20 (--no-site-packages, and pip ending up outside the venv because the venv's python symlink was resolved); - --setuptools-test now fails with a clear message when setuptools >= 72 no longer provides `setup.py test`. Upstream (spotify/dh-virtualenv) has been inactive since 2020, so I plan to forward the patches there but carry them in Debian. Thanks, Nico
