Hi Juan,

Thank you for taking the time to look at it, that is fair feedback.

There is already an unofficial APT repository, so users can install
and test the editor today:

  https://wyllianbs.github.io/slayer-apt

I have also submitted it to extrepo, where it is currently under
review.

I agree the project is still young. I will slow down the release
pace, aim for a stable 1.0 and let it gather users and feedback
through that repository first. I will keep the RFS open and update
it when there is a stable release; if you or other sponsors prefer,
I can close it for now and open a new one later.

Thanks again,
Wyllian

Hoy William, I think that having a stable upstream release first, and a bigger
user base and demand can help on the adoption. Right now this looks like a
hobby project, I would suggest xreating an unofficial debian repository until
the project is more mature.

My two cents, best,

Juan

Control: retitle -1 RFS: slayer-editor/0.4.6-1 [ITP] -- lightweight code
editor with an embedded terminal

Dear mentors,

I have uploaded a new version of my package "slayer-editor" to
mentors.debian.net and I am still looking for a sponsor.

   * Package name     : slayer-editor
     Version          : 0.4.6-1
     Upstream author  : Wyllian Bezerra da Silva <[email protected]>
   * URL              : https://github.com/wyllianbs/SE
   * License          : GPL-3.0-or-later
     Section          : editors

It builds this binary package:

    slayer-editor - lightweight code editor with an embedded terminal

To access further information about this package, please visit:

    https://mentors.debian.net/package/slayer-editor/

Alternatively, you can download the package with dget:

    dget -x
https://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/s/slayer-editor/slayer-editor_0.4.6-1.dsc

Packaging notes:

    * Source format 3.0 (quilt), non-native.
    * debhelper-compat 13, dh with the cmake buildsystem,
      Rules-Requires-Root: no, Standards-Version 4.7.4.
    * The upstream Qt test suite runs at build time (override_dh_auto_test
      with QT_QPA_PLATFORM=offscreen).
    * lintian -IE --pedantic is clean, except the usual
      newer-standards-version note for 4.7.4.
    * Copyright follows DEP-5. The editor is GPL-3.0-or-later. One font,
      Symbols Nerd Font Mono (Expat), is shipped in the Qt resource to
      draw the UI glyph icons; the Hack and JetBrains Mono Nerd fonts are
      not bundled (fonts-hack is a dependency and fonts-jetbrains-mono is
      recommended instead). The metainfo file is CC0-1.0.
    * Dependencies: the binary depends on the Qt 6 runtime (via shlibs)
      and fonts-hack. build-essential, gdb, python3, python3-debugpy and
      qt6-translations-l10n are Recommends; the optional language runtimes
      (rustc, golang-go, nodejs, default-jdk, and php-cli for the HTML
      preview) are Suggests.
    * debian/changelog keeps a single entry, since the package has not
      been in the archive yet.

Changes in this upload (0.4.6-1):

- Much faster theme switching and file opening on large files (no more
    multi-second freeze).
- View ▸ Dark Mode (Ctrl+Shift+D) switches the theme to its light/dark
variant.
- Focus on run (View menu and Settings ▸ Terminal): terminal only when the
    program waits for input (default), always the terminal, or the editor.
- Selecting text highlights its other occurrences.
- Debugging uses the same terminal tab as Run; the step buttons and the
    debugger panel appear only during a session.
- Breakpoints only for languages the debugger supports (Python, C, C++).
- The terminal button is a plain show/hide toggle.
- Preview: cross-origin isolation (COOP/COEP) on by default.
- The automatic interface language follows LANGUAGE/LC_MESSAGES/LANG;
    complete pt_BR translation.
- Removed the leftover Flatpak support: the editor is distributed as a
Debian
    package.

This is still the initial Debian release (Closes: #1150574). I am the
upstream author and will maintain the package.

Thank you very much for your time and for considering sponsoring it.

Regards,
Wyllian Bezerra da Silva
