Thanks! I applied some of your patches directly, though I took a
slightly different approach for building these files since I prefer to
avoid having Debian packages build-depend on tox (it might be harmless
in this particular case, but very similar-looking setups can often
result in trying to build virtual environments with dependencies pulled
from PyPI). It was the same general idea, though.
This will be in 4.0.7+ds1-1.
