Lowering the severity of this bug as it looks like easy workarounds exist[1], and the issue seems to not really be a flameshot bug but instead a GNOME permissions issue. I'm keeping this issue open for now as the upstream issue is still open, but feel free to close it if you're no longer facing the issue.
