Hello,
Because I really needed my encrypted data, I used the backup of the
.thunderbird directory. Maybe some other people are in the same
situation. This is what I did:
First download the old Thunderbird version and translation from
snapshot.debian.org:
https://snapshot.debian.org/package/thunderbird/1%3A140.17.0esr-1~deb13u1/
Then I did put the backup of .thunderbird in /home/paul/.thunderbird-140
and I did the following:
killall thunderbird
apt remove thunderbird thunderbird-l10n-nl
mv /home/paul/.thunderbird /home/paul/.thunderbird-153
mv /home/paul/.thunderbird-140 /home/paul/.thunderbird
apt install /home/paul/Downloads/thunderbird_140.17.0esr-1~deb13u1_amd64.deb
apt install
/home/paul/Downloads/thunderbird-l10n-nl_140.17.0esr-1~deb13u1_all.deb
apt-mark hold thunderbird thunderbird-l10n-nl
apt-mark showhold
Then I started Thunderbird, and I can read my messages again ;-)
Regards,
Paul
