Hi Stable Release Managers,

Another affected user here, adding one detail that I think raises the
urgency of #1150302 beyond "applications fail".

With postgresql-18-mongo-fdw 5.5.3-1.pgdg13+1 from apt.postgresql.org on
trixie, linked against libmongoc-1.0-0t64 1.30.4-1+deb13u3, the failure
is silent. That mongo_fdw release does not check the cursor error. Every
MongoDB foreign table therefore returns zero rows and no error, so
reports and data pipelines get empty results with nothing in the logs.
Only a mongo_fdw built from current upstream master shows the
underlying error:

ERROR: failed to create cursor
HINT: Mongo driver error: database name "app.docs" invalid: contains "."

Reproduced with postgres:18-trixie (PostgreSQL 18.6, Debian 13.7, arm64)
against MongoDB 6, 7 and 8. The same queries return the expected rows
when mongo_fdw is linked against mongo-c-driver 1.30.14 built from
upstream source. Our analysis of the cause matches #1150302. The deb13u4
debdiff fixes that.

We are working around it by building the driver ourselves, but other
mongo_fdw users on trixie may not notice they are getting empty results.
We would appreciate it if this could go out as an SUA.

Thanks,
Jose Sabater
