I can confirm that this fix is still needed, and it is also demonstrated
for the loong64 build:

I would like to perform an NMU fixing this in the coming weeks with the
following proposed patch:

diff --git a/Makefile.am b/Makefile.am

--- a/Makefile.am

I have adjusted the original proposed patch to use +%F to avoid locale
variations, which uses a YYYY-MM-DD format (e.g. 2026-10-31).

Are there any outstanding concerns?
