Hi Stuart,

This does not look like a FTBFS due to dh-python. From the log, this is
a file overwrite problem between two other packages.

You are right. Here's a different log file that does include the proper dh-python error:

https://debusine.debian.net/debian/r-python-python3.15/artifact/5243759/

D: dh_python3 fs:61: moving files from debian/python3-tomoscan/usr/lib/python3.14/dist-packages to debian/python3-tomoscan/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/ D: dh_python3 fs:61: moving files from debian/python3-tomoscan/usr/lib/python3.15/dist-packages to debian/python3-tomoscan/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/
W: dh_python3 fs:165: No merge driver for dist-info file top_level.txt
E: dh_python3 fs:184: Not everything in 'debian/python3-tomoscan/usr/lib/python3.15/dist-packages/tomoscan-3.0.0.dev2.dist-info' was able to be merged into 'debian/python3-tomoscan/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/tomoscan-3.0.0.dev2.dist-info'. I: dh_python3 fs:191: Remaining files: debian/python3-tomoscan/usr/lib/python3.15/dist-packages/tomoscan-3.0.0.dev2.dist-info/top_level.txt

The issues about the clash between python3-volio and python3-tomobase happened in debusine because they had been built with the previous dh-python version that didn't detect that they were shipping the build/ directory. It was not visible in sid because the build directory only appears when there are 2 supported python versions.

I've reported the issue in python3-tomobase in #1152772
