While looking at pms because it's the only package still depending on
libmpd, I noticed that it seems to be dead upstream: the last activity
on its Sourceforge page was in 2015, the most recent release was in
2010, and the svn repository hasn't changed since the previous upstream
release in 2009.
This means that its Debian maintainers are probably also its de facto
upstream. If it's still actively maintained by someone, it might be
better to set up a maintained fork in some distro-neutral location.
