Dear procps maintainer,
dear sysvinit maintainers,

here is an update on the preparatory work for moving /usr/bin/pidof from `sysvinit-utils` to `procps`.

The MBF asking packages to depend on procps if using pidof is pretty much over.

Only one package with popcon >100 is still not acted upon (ifupdown2). There are then 13 packages with a patch ready and/or waiting for an upload, 15 bugs that should be closed as false positives (still waiting for their maintainers to double check), and 18 packages with still open bugs (all popcon/vote <40).

The plan at this point:

1. In a coordinated fashion (= same dinstall run) sysvinit-utils will stop shipping pidof and procps will start shipping it instead. Patches are ready ([1,2]) and I volunteer myself to do the NMUs, should you be be short on time.

2. Soon after, the severity of the still open bugs will be raised to important; to serious in 4 weeks.

3. After the upload is done, this bug can be closed and work on #85174 can resume.

Comments? Suggestions for when the coordinated upload should take place?
