For what it's worth, the modern source repository for parmetis is https://github.com/KarypisLab/ParMETIS They've updated to a "modern" cmake build, cmake_minimum_required(VERSION 3.10) Chances are it's sufficient to fix Bug#1125616 They made an int32 bugfix for MPI 4, though it might be fixing a different issue to Bug#1080199, which already has a patch. They haven't made any releases though (not even tags). They've retained the non-free licence, "It can be freely used for educational and research purposes by non-profit institutions and US government agencies only. Other organizations are allowed to use ParMETIS only for evaluation purposes, and any further uses will require prior approval"
