There is a indeed such a branch at https://github.com/Perl/perl5/tree/maint-5.40 but upstream only offers security fixes for 5.40 at this point, see https://github.com/Perl/perl5/blob/blead/pod/perlpolicy.pod That said, the fix at https://github.com/Perl/perl5/commit/85e97066288fa0be7b08897c6306e33ea2ef45d7 applies cleanly to 5.40, so it may be feasible to backport this for trixie anyway. I'll see if I can get it in a future point update. -- Niko
