I had the very same problem when trying to install Debian on my Macbook (which needs the sky2 module as well). Problem is that the kernel used by d-i is different from the one on the installed system: 2.6.16-2-486 (used by d-i) vs. 2.6.15-1-686 on the installed system my workaround was to switch to VT2 (CTRL-ALT-F2), chroot into /target, upgrade to unstable and install 2.6.16-2 kernel before ending the d-i session. I'm sure there must better ways of acieving that (maybe download the kernel sources then recompile and install a kernel which includes/uses the sky2 module); if you find alternate solutions please let us know. regards, Davide
