I prepared a new pacakge that fix this. It is available at http://dept-info.labri.fr/~danjean/deb.html#mercurial It will be in the debian archive as soon as my sponsor will upload it. This package also fix the bug with "hg serve" (related to the move of files due to the new debian python policy and not related to mercurial code itself).
