Package: scite
Version: 1.69-1
Severity: important
I frequently XForward from my workstation to my laptop ('ssh -X
workstation' from laptop) over a DSL connection. When my workstation was
sarge scite displayed fast engough to be usefull. After upgrading to etch
(the workstation only) it is unusably slow. It takes almost 8 seconds to
redraw a 700x700 pixel window! Scrolling and even just typing have become
sooo much slooooower then it was with sarge.
I just tried, and oowriter over the same XForwarded connection is 10x more
responsive then scite. (not an actual messurment, just 'user experiance')
It is verry usable, scite is not... :(
I don't know what change between sarge and etch caused this... but please
change it back! :)
Regards,
Mark.
