If you're using GNOME, you might go to Applications > Desktop preferences > Addvanced preferences > Multimedia systems selection. There, you'll configure your GStreamer preferences. You can also launch "gstreamer-properties" directly. This is indicated in the README.Debian file already, hence I'm closing this bug. Reopen it (or mail me) if necessary.
