I don't need to be using a console for this. Real easy, open emacs with no
shell-related customization and type:

Hit tab on each line in turn and you'll end up with:
case a in
*)
;;
esac
I can't reliably reproduce it, but sometimes the case body moves to column 0
instead of to the column of the case label. It never moves to four spaces
past the case label, which it should - the case label indentation defaults
to "+" and the case body ("alt") to "++".
