reopen 380397
reassign 380397 thunderbird-locales
thanks

Hans, do we have this issue solved in 1.5.0.4 locales (e.g. make
locales compatible in install.rdf for 1.5.0.x)? Otherwise, we should
really consider doing this.

Michel, read below:

This is the trade off when using testing. Anyway, since the locale
package has not been removed, this is indeed a locale issue - I didn't
know that from your description. Thus, I ask Hans (the locale
maintainer) to make locales compatible for the whole 1.5.0.x series
... the next time.

... and as I said, for now you can take the package from unstable (just
download and install dpkg -i package.deb). It's the same that will
land in testing in 2-3 days. So you won't be mixing anything.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

 - Alexander
