That is a local configuration thing. On my system (installed as default
I think) I have the hostname resolved to 127.0.0.1.

However if you are on a remote system and connect to the one that
change the ip, you will have it frozen. Reconnecting to the correct (new)
ip would help though.

This is what you can expect from any tcp/udp/ip based network services.
