AVG creates a folder $VAULT$.AVG in the root of every partion, containing avg vault files. file does not recognise these files. I suggest the following magic to recognise it: 0 string AVG7_ANTIVIRUS_VAULT_FILE AVG 7 Antivirus vault file data This works for me!
