Package: apt Version: 0.6.44.2 Severity: normal When /etc/apt/sources.list line has an URL in this format:
http://user:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:port/path 'apt-get update' will have a "401 Authentication Required" error when the webserver is configured for Digest Authentication instead of Basic Authentication. Digest Authentication support would be nice to avoid having to send passwords in plain text (although an attacker familiar with HTTP headers could still use the digest info to log into the server).
