I insist: build daemons do *not* have gawk installed.
Follow the link I have already put in my last message
and read the log file :-(

http://buildd.debian.org/fetch.php?&pkg=adolc&ver=1.10.1-1&arch=m68k&stamp=1154540200&file=log&as=raw

FYI, I have already talk with RM about FTBFS caused by bashisms, and
refering to the Debian Policy they should be RC. However, they are just
treated as 'important' for now because this would cause too much
troubles. So between serious or important, I'm not too far.
At least less far from 'wishlist' (current severity that you decided
for this bug).
