hi there (new cacti maintainer here), could you verify for whether or not you still have this problem in the latest version of cacti? there were numerous bugs fixed by the latest 0.8.6 series of cacti that i'm guessing probably include this one. if you're running a pure sarge environment, you might have to wait a day or two for it to trickle in from sid, otherwise please grab it from there.
