        Could you give a rationale? Or what the actual problem is,
 rather than just the solution?  As it stands, asking for a sanity
 check not to be performed seems a regression, since users will not
 get an immediate notification when a typo is made.  For this change
 to be made, the benefit of making the change must outweigh the
 downside of the regression.
