Strange, I recently heard several reports about this phenomenon, but I cannot reproduce it. > There were naturally many suggestions that attempting to keep a mixed > system is a Bad Idea, but as I have limited bandwidth, I didn't want to > go for a complete dist-upgrade. Mixing a system should be fine in general. Usually versioned dependencies should make sure that the system is in a consitent state. > Versions of packages postgresql-common depends on: > pn postgresql-client-common <none> (no description available) This might be the reason. You need postgresql-client-common installed. Actually p-common Depends: on p-client-common, but the preinst already uses a file shipped by p-client-common. To verify, can you please apt-get install postgresql-client-common and then try again? Thank you!
