I'm not sure, as the formatting of the email make it very hard to
extract the content, but I believe the problem reported is that these
two PCI ids are not properly handled by discover-data:
8086:108c - 82573E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (Copper)
8086:27df - 82801G (ICH7 Family) IDE Controller
I had a look in the current pci-device.xml, and these are the entries:
<device vendor='8086' model='108c' model_name='82573E Gigabit Ethernet
Controller (Copper)' busclass='0200'/>
<device vendor='8086' model='27df' model_name='82801G (ICH7 Family) IDE
Controller' busclass='0101'>
<data class='linux'>
<data class='module'>
<data class='name'>piix</data>
</data>
<data class='last-updated'>2006-08-13</data>
<data class='last-updated-by'>[EMAIL PROTECTED]</data>
</data>
</device>
This mean that the ethernet card is not recognized, while the SATA
controller should be using the kernel module piix. Can you tell me
what kernel module is used by the ethernet card? Is the piix entry
correct for the SATA card?
Friendly,
