Can you provide some information on how we could detect a Kanotix 
installation?
See these scripts for some indication how the installer detects Linux 
distributions:
- Based on LSB file:

Note that the second test is based on the presence of /lib/ld-linux.so. 
Does Kanotix have that?

You probably mean that the correct XOrg video driver was not set up?
If you provide us with the 'lspci' and 'lspci -n' information for your 
graphics card and what driver it needs, we can fix that.
