I am on the Fvwm mailinglist and it is stronly recommended to
switch to "colorset" since *Fore and *Back will be removed.
It seems definitivly for 3.0

I have downloaded 2.5.17 and will backport it to Sarge and look
whether it is a Bug or a problem from switching to colorset.
