I've found the solution. See the attached diff. After replacing "nuke" with "rm -rf" (as it was in the last udev version I believe) and running "update-initramfs -u" everything is back to normal.
It seems that /dev/.udev/queue/ doesn't even exist here and nuke fails with an error code 1 which causes the script to terminate before getting around to moving /dev to the new root whereas rm -rf of course succeeds regardless. -- CJ van den Berg mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] xmpp:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
