This problem still persists when a version= header is sent to the BTS; for example, at http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?pkg=reportbug&version=3.29, #322739 shows up as outstanding.
Granted, this may be because 3.17 appears in the found list... I tried fixing this with a 'notfound 3.17' command, but it still thinks the bug exists in 3.17.
