Package: kuake Version: 0.3-1 Severity: important When I try and open kuake with the keyboard binding (Win-Grave in my case, but I tested it with other bindings as well), in most cases the kuake window opens and immediatly closes again; it flip-flops.
What I have been able to determine so far: - Kuake opens correctly right after it has been started. I choose kuake from the menu, it starts up hidden, I hit the keyboard binding, it opens and stays open. If I close it again or move focus away from it, it goes back to flip-flopping. - If I choose an empty Virtual Desktop (no open windows), kuake opens and closes correctly, no flip-flopping. - On a virtual desktop with one or more windows open, kuake will flip-flop, but if I click on the desktop and thus only the root window has focus, kuake doesn't flip-flop. - Clearing the desktop by minimizing windows also stops the flip-flop behaviour from occuring. - Leaving only one or more shaded windows doesn't stop the flip-flopping. - Changing anything on the 'Focus' tab of the Desktop -> Window Behaviour configuration applet in the Control Center doesn't change the behaviour. I attached my current kwinrc so you can verify my settings. - I quit all applications and applets, leaving only a KEdit window open, the behaviour didn't change. - Changing any of the kuake settings for size, toggle button on or off, placement or speed has no discrenable effect; changing some settings (placement, toggle button on or off) will cause it to work correctly for one opening and closing before reverting to flip-flopping again. Severity important because kuake is pretty much useless to me if I can only open it on empty desktop or when explicitly having to click on the desktop.
