Package: firefox
Version: 1.5.dfsg+1.5.0.4-1
I have see that there are others WEB sites that generate a Firefox crash
for example loading this one:
http://www.atomicmpc.com.au/forums.asp?s=2&c=10&t=3802
I have done the following:
$ wget -O atomic.html \
"http://www.atomicmpc.com.au/forums.asp?s=2&c=10&t=3802"
$ firefox atomic.html
The program 'Gecko' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadShmSeg (invalid shared segment parameter)'.
(Details: serial 41 error_code 167 request_code 145 minor_code 2)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error()
function.)
So I have start to cut html code and found that Firefox crash with the
following html page:
----8<----8<----8<----8<----8<----8<----8<---
<html>
<object >
<embed src="a.swf" />
</object>
</html>
----8<----8<----8<----8<----8<----8<----8<---
if you remove the .swf than Firefox do not crash anymore
At this point I have remembered that I have installed some day ago the
GPL flash library to see if they work ... so:
# apt-get remove --purge libflash-mozplugin libflash-swfplayer libflash0c2
and this solve the problem: no more crash :-)
Ciao
