Package: totem Version: 0.100-1 Severity: normal
Totem has been crashing on me when loading any media file for the past few weeks, but only on my laptop. If I remove the 'snd_intel8x0m' kernel module, the crash does not happen, and totem works perfectly. Other programs like rhythmbox, xmms, etc. seem to be able to operate fine even though the 'snd_intel8x0m' module is loaded. Only totem has a problem. The 'snd_intel8x0m' module appears to be configured to load automatically via the default testing install using debian-installer RC2, so I believe that this will affect a lot of laptop and intel onboard sound users. Either totem needs to be modified so that it operates properly under the scenario that this module is loaded, or debian-installer should not configure the 'snd_intel8x0m' module to be loaded as a default.
