Package: debconf Version: 1.4.46 Severity: minor Hi,
>From reading the docs, I have learned that ~/.debconfrc is mainly geared for debugging. However, I have been confused by the fact that woody's debconf honors $HOME when determining ~/.debconfrc, while sid's debconf uses getpwuid($>) to determine the home directory. This is relevant when debconf is invoked via sudo, as during package installation. Additionally, Config.pm only considers ~/.debconfrc only if DEBCONF_SYSTEMRC is not set in the environment. This is fairly non-standard behavior for a ~/.foo-File, and should be clearly documented in the manpages, which is not currently the case.
