In the update-grub wrapper: "Your /etc/kernel-img.conf needs upgrade." s/needs upgrade/needs to be updated/ Also, the NEWS.Debian file mentioned in the update-grub wrapper is compressed. I would suggest to replace 1. /usr/share/doc/grub/NEWS.Debian with [1] /usr/share/doc/grub/NEWS.Debian.gz
